What’s Your Role at The Carers Centre?

As the volunteer coordinator, I am responsible for recruiting, training and supporting people who generously give their time to contribute to the Centre’s work. Volunteers add a huge amount to our organisation and are valuable members of our team.

How did you get involved with The Carers Centre?

I originally trained as a research scientist, but I have spent most of my working life in the voluntary advice sector. I started at The Carers Centre in 2021 as a volunteer, fitting in online groups and peer mentoring around caring for my daughter who has complex needs. When a job opportunity came up I jumped at it.
