Support Groups and Organisations
Below is a list of carers groups around the City, County and Rutland (under development).
Carers Together
Meets once a month on weekdays for social activities, such as pub lunches, garden centre trips, 10 pin bowling, etc. The group is supported and organised by CLASP staff. Contact CLASP on 0116 2510999 for more information.
Arthritis Support Group (Melton) meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 1.30pm at the Samworth Centre. Contact Gareth Redfern on 01664 502378.
Ashby Carers Group - Meet third Thursday in the month. For times and more information, please contact Sian Dennis or Sarah Hoult-Ellingworth on 01530 512450.
Caring Friends
Meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am. The group goes out and about on visits, meals, etc. Contact Sandra on 0116 2727669 for more information.
Centre 88 Group
Meets in the Blaby District on the 1st Thursday of the month at 7.30pm, for carers of people with mental health problems. Contact Sandra on 0116 2727669 for more information.
Glenfield Carers Group
Meets once a month, on 2nd Tuesday between 12-2pm, usually for meals out and a chat. Sometimes goes on outings and trips out. Contact Richard Rue on 0116 2339547 for more information.

Melton Borough Carers Support Group
Meets on the second Wednesday of each month at Gloucester House, Melton Mowbray from 10.30am - 12 noon. Contact Jan or Helen on 01664 485304.
Rethink Carers Support Group (Melton)
For carers of people with mental illness. Meets on the fourth Thursday of every month between 1.00 - 3.00pm at the Samworth Centre. Contact Lynn Redfearn on 01530 836289.
Voluntary Action Blaby District
Holds coffee mornings at the Pavilion, Huncote, once a month.
Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of the month. The times for all mornings are 11 - 1pm. Professionals from other organisations will also pop in from time to time to share their expertise.

Voluntary Action South Leicestershire Carers Project
Runs two support groups. One is for carers looking after someone with mental health problems: this meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 10.30am - 12.00 noon at Bower House, 32 Coventry Road, Market Harborough, Leicestershire LE16 9BZ.
The second group is Carers Break and is for all carers. This group meets on the 4th Thursday of every month at 1.30pm - 3.00pm at the same venue as above.
