Consulting CarersConsulting with carers is a crucially important aspect of CLASP - The Carers Centre's existence and its future development. We aim to give carers a voice in the way our services are run and in the development of new services.
We set up our Consultation Group for carers in 1998. The Carers' Consultation Group has been meeting ever since on a regular basis to discuss items on the agenda. Help can be arranged for transport costs to get to the Centre.
Topics have involved the National Carers' Strategy, meeting with the Social Services Inspectorate as part of the Leicester City Social Services Joint Review and came up with the idea of a GP Signposting leaflet for carers which was launched in June 2001. The Consultation Group has also helped us to design our main leaflets, and helped to develop ideas into what became our Befriending Service.
We are now working to develop the Carers Consultation Group into a Carers' Panel which will also provide carer representatives for events and statutory working groups.
We will post more information on this page when we have it. In the meantime, if you want to know more or are interested in taking part, please contact CLASP on 0116 2510999. |
