Befriending ServiceCaring is often rewarding but can also be demanding and isolating. If you think you would benefit from seeing someone on a regular basis, who can offer YOU friendship, emotional support and information then we can help you. The befriending service is funded by CLASP through its fundraising activities. Is the befriending service for YOU?A volunteer befriender can offer you regular home visits, a listening ear, provide information, provide practical support, and refer to CLASP for other services. Seeing a befriender for an hour a week, when its convenient for you (day, evening or weekends) gives you 'me time'. Time for YOU - time to talk about YOU, time to think about YOU. Does this sound appealing? Then give us a call. Confidential Service

VolunteeringAre you Interested in becoming a Volunteer? We provide a range of volunteering opportunities at CLASP. As well as becoming a volunteer befriender, you could assist on group activities/outings, fund raise, help out at exhibitions, meet and greet carers at the Centre or help with the collation of our regular mailshots (eg. quarterly newsletter). The choice is YOURS. What's in it for YOU if you become a volunteer? Most people volunteer because they want to help people. Volunteers are rewarded by seeing the difference they can make in someone's life. As a volunteer you will receive training and support, meet new people and have the satisfaction of helping someone. Working with carers will also help you develop skills and qualities which will be useful in other areas of your life. How much time is involved in being a volunteer? All we ask is for no more than a few hours a week. It can be during the day, in the evening or at a weekend. The choice is YOURS.
