A huge thank you to all those of you who joined us during Carers Week. We had some really good times.
The week started quietly with the Carers Cuppa at the Tea Rooms at Leicester Town Hall. The new Respite Care Directory for Carers of Older Adults was launched by Sir Peter Soulsby MP and some carers did attend, though it was a shame there wasn't more.
Much more popular was the 'Cream Tea' events at 4 of Leicestershire's Garden Centres. We gave away more than 100 Cream Teas to Carers and we ran 4 Carers Quizzes to win £10 Garden Vouchers.
Congratulations to all the winners!!
CLASP's Pampering Day was as popular as ever with many Carers enjoying Indian Head Massages, Reflexology and Manicures as well as the chance to meet up with other carers.
The Foxton Crafty Carers Craft Exhibition was unfortunately not greatly attended, which was a shame as all the craft exhibited was done by carers from around Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and was of a very high quality. We hope that maybe next year we can combine it with the Carers Cuppa so that it is more accessible.
Over in Rutland there were some major successes with the Ascot Picnic where carers donned on their best hats and had a regal picnic and the Carers Mobile Bus which toured Rutland over the week attracted a large number of carers and
generated many new members for CLASP.
Thanks you to everyone that helped CLASP to run these events, especially the Garden Centres, the staff at the Town Hall, the Papmering Day Therapists, the Foxton Carers orgainsers, and all the organisatins involved in the Mobile Bus in Rutland.
If you have any ideas for events you'd like to see next year then please let us know, otherwise roll on 2011!!
